Degenerative Eye Disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Stargardt Disease and Macular Degeneration

We offer highly specialized, intensive acupuncture sessions for the treatment of degenerative eye disorders. Please call to see if you qualify for the treatments, see how to schedule, to get additional information for those traveling from out of town, or any other information.

The practice of Oriental Medicine for the treatment of degenerative eye disease, particularly those leading to gradual blindness, is a highly specialized, intensive approach which includes the insertion of fine needles at energetic points along the body and face. Additionally, it includes the administration of raw or powdered and/or raw medicinal formulas.

The number of personal testimonials to the benefit of acupuncture for vision is easily found. In most cases, patients admit to improved acuity, field of vision, and clarity, reduction of glare and strongly believe that the consistent use of Oriental Medicine has slowed the progression towards blindness. In some cases patients whom have received treatments consistently are, after 9-11 years, still driving and enjoying a high quality of life despite the predictions of blindness within that time frame. Studies of acupuncture to improve visual function in Retinitis Pigmentosa patients showed 6 of 12 subjects having measurable, significant visual function improvements after treatment.
