Lori Scott, L.AcA

Lori Scott, L.AcA

Lori Scott graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and earned a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from The Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Austin, Texas. Her education included 3,000 hours of academic and clinical experience, specific to the practice of traditional Chinese medicine. In addition, she spent 3 years observing and assisting with her mentor, Dr. Ziyang Zhou. She sat for the rigorous national board tests and was certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbology nationally and within the state of Texas. She opened her first private practice in Austin and worked there until she moved back home to Louisiana in 2005.

Since then, she has practiced privately in Abbeville, Louisiana and is currently licensed through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. She has over a decade of experience and has treated thousands of patients for a multitude of issues, with a strong clinical focus in pain management, female fertility, menstrual disharmony, and degenerative eye disease. In addition to administering acupuncture, Lori continues to share her expertise in herbology by writing and administering her own formulas using the traditional Chinese apothecary located within the clinic. She is also certified in the refined Hakomi method. Her treatments combine concise skill with compassion and dedication.

This year, Lori decided to move her practice from Abbeville to her hometown of New Iberia. She is a member of New Iberia's Heirloom Vegetable Produce Cooperative and has dedicated a portion of her garden to planting rarely grown Chinese and Ayurveda herbs in order to explore which species thrive in the soil and climate of Southern Louisiana.
