Spleen Qi and Longevity

How to preserve our Qi by protecting the digestive system

This informational one hour presentation is intended to be part of a series describing the concepts of longevity within the philosophy of Oriental Medicine and the organ and networking systems. The spleen is one of the most crucial systems in Chinese Medicine that has to do with energy. motivation, lightness in step and clear minded intention in the world. It is easily damaged within our modern American culture. The deficiencies and dis-harmonies of the Spleen Qi are easily predicted along the life span of a typical American patient, and is not completely, but more so prevalent in females. It is usually, along with the Liver organ system, the first organ that begins the decent towards fatigue, digestive disturbances, sluggishness, and irritability and if not taken care of early, will begin to drain the Qi from all other organ systems. Yet, there are some very basic practices, as well as formulas, that can preserve the Spleen Qi.
